Virtual Idols for Children

Project Abstract

Despite the fact that the world of virtual beings has grown in the last few decades, no virtual idols can have their own personalities. Creating virtual idols with empathy and positive attitude seem to be unachievable with the existing technology. The major reason for this is that personalities and feelings cannot be reduced to mathematical problems. As a result, another approach must be initiated in order to create virtual beings with these two characteristics.

This project proposes how developers are able to use an embedded voice assistant with speech and visual capabilities to add the feeling of empathy and positive attitude to their virtual idols. When most people think of empathy and positive thinking, the first thing that comes to mind is children. As a result, instead of constructing the needed characters, the quest for this challenge will be what the children’s idols are like. Voice and appearance are crucial in creating a virtual idol that children enjoy. For example, the voice should be amiable and appealing to children, and the appearance should reflect the image that children favor.
