Paulo Garcia

Dr. Paulo Garcia is an Assistant Professor at CMKL (Carnegie Mellon KMITL) University in Bangkok, Thailand. He was previously an Assistant Professor at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, where he remains an Adjunct Research Professor; a Senior Research Scientist at United Technologies Research Center in Cork, Ireland; and a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, UK. He holds a PhD, MSc and BSc in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the University of Minho, Portugal, having performed parts of his studies at the University of Maribor, Slovenia; the University of Wurzburg, Germany; and the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Dr. Garcia is a member of the IEEE and sits on the TCFA sub-committee for In-Vehicle Embedded Systems. His research interests include embedded and cyber-physical systems, simulation models for large-scale deployments of cyber-physical systems, and programming languages and compiler technologies for parallel computing and asynchronous embedded programming.
