Responsibilities:

  • Design visual content for print and digital applications that is on-brand, reinforces our status and reputation, and is appropriate for our various audiences
  • Design and layout of materials for internal communications and engagement with our board of directors
  • Contribute to organization and planning for production teams to optimize resources and produce quality and timely outputs.
  • Work autonomously and develop high-quality concepts with minimal instruction
  • Create infographics and presentation materials to simplify communication of complex concepts and data
  • Edit video clips for use on social media platforms
  • Provide technical support for design and video elated efforts
  • Optimize graphics and video content for social media platforms
  • Oversee all design projects, from conception to delivery.
  • Maintaining the brand's consistency across all the digital designs and printed materials.
  • Review junior designers’ work to ensure high quality.
  • Supervise and lead the graphic designing team
  • Execute video editing and delivery utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or other industry standard video editing software.
  • Operates video cameras, on location or in the studio, in the production of professional pre-recorded programming.
  • Designs, transports, sets up, and operates production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment, for field and studio productions.
  • Design, produce, render and oversee digital graphic, printing tasks, assets including illustrations and infographics to ensure the quality and consistency of the designs.
  • Use innovative design and motion to tell a visual story.
  • Create high-quality content from a loose concept under tight deadlines.
  • Create graphics and animated elements for videos.
  • Create and maintain a smooth and effective system of operation for animation and editing.
  • Consistently strive to improve the quality of videos using animation or graphics.
  • Work effectively as part of the university team.
  • Effectively communicate concepts and ideas to the Manager and production team.
  • Liaise with marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools
  • Maintains work equipment inventory
  • Provide additional services to the University, external community, and the larger academic community as requested by University’s executives including, but not limited to, engagement in university-appointed committee or meetings, involvement in advising of students, community services and activities organized by the university, activities in professional societies and university-affiliated organizations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, graphic design, or related field, or demonstrated success in relevant professional fields
  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (mainly InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, Photoshop and Canva), Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and G Suite
  • Familiarity with best practices for graphics and video content on social media platforms(YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, video editing and web limitations; must have the ability to storyboard or translate ideas to team members
