CMKL University and KMITL Strengthen Thailand’s Startup Pipeline Through Zero to 1 Accelerator

CMKL University, together with King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), hosted the Zero to 1 Accelerator session at Common Ground, 31st Floor, G Tower, bringing together aspiring builders, entrepreneurs, and innovators for a program focused on early-stage venture creation.

The event reflected CMKL and KMITL’s shared commitment to advancing innovation-driven education in Thailand by creating opportunities for participants to learn directly from entrepreneurs, investors, faculty, mentors, and advisors. Through practical sessions and open discussion, participants explored what it takes to turn ideas into action and build ventures that respond to real market needs.

The program featured insights from Shannon Kalayanamitr, CEO of 5GCT, Venture Partner at Hive Ventures, and Shark on Shark Tank Thailand, who spoke on “What & Why” and shared perspectives on the realities of entrepreneurship. Her session encouraged participants to think critically about founder motivation, market understanding, and the challenges behind building a sustainable business.

Participants also heard from Aaron Yip, Co-Founder of Issa Compass, serial entrepreneur, and Iterative VC Visiting Partner, who shared his experience on “From 0 to 30 Million THB.” His session offered a practical view of growth, execution, and decision-making in the early stages of building a company.

Dylan Powell, Faculty at CMKL University, led the Program Overview and Q&A, introducing the structure of the Zero to 1 Accelerator and guiding participants through the next steps of the program. Discussions with mentors and advisors further enriched the experience, giving participants the opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions, and receive guidance from professionals with direct experience in venture building.

For CMKL University, the Zero to 1 Accelerator aligns with its mission to nurture entrepreneurial professionals who can apply AI, technology, engineering, and innovation to real-world challenges. As Thailand’s AI and innovation ecosystem continues to grow, programs like Zero to 1 help create pathways for emerging talent to develop the mindset, skills, and networks needed to build meaningful solutions.

The Zero to 1 Accelerator will continue with upcoming online panel interview sessions, where selected participants will further engage with the program team and mentors.
