CMKL and Sony Technology (Thailand) Explore Collaboration in AI-Enabled Engineering and Talent Development

CMKL University welcomed the management team from Sony Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. for a campus visit and strategic discussion focused on collaboration in AI-enabled engineering, applied research and development, and future talent development.

The visit highlighted opportunities for CMKL and Sony Technology (Thailand) to connect university-based AI and engineering expertise with real industrial challenges. Discussions focused on potential collaboration in applied AI, smart manufacturing, robotics and automation, embedded AI systems, intelligent sensing, and data-driven production systems, as well as internship pathways that allow students to gain experience in advanced technology environments.

As Thailand’s AI and innovation-focused university, CMKL integrates artificial intelligence across its education, research, and innovation ecosystem. The university’s approach emphasizes hands-on learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world implementation, preparing students to design, build, and deploy AI-enabled systems that respond to the needs of industry and society.

During the visit, representatives from Sony Technology (Thailand) met with CMKL leadership and team members to explore possible collaboration models, including industry internships, applied research projects, technical workshops, faculty-industry engagement, and student projects aligned with Sony Technology (Thailand)’s operational and innovation priorities.

The Sony Technology (Thailand) team also joined a specialized APEX Tour, where they explored CMKL’s research facilities, project-based learning environment, and interdisciplinary approach to AI and engineering education. The tour provided an opportunity to see how CMKL supports applied research, prototype development, and collaboration between students, faculty, and industry partners.

The visit reflects CMKL’s continued commitment to building focused partnerships that move beyond general engagement toward practical collaboration in AI, engineering, and technology development. Through partnerships with leading technology companies such as Sony Technology (Thailand), CMKL aims to create meaningful pathways for students to gain professional experience while contributing to Thailand’s growing innovation ecosystem.
