ETDA: Forensics Data Platform Project

In collaboration with the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), researchers from CMKL and Carnegie Mellon University are working to develop a forensics data platform that is able to successfully recover data deleted by criminals. Using specialized templates, ETDA investigators can customize code and input it into the data platform to recover various types of deleted data and search for keywords. From hard drives and emails, to other forms of deleted digital data, criminal’s ability to hide from justice just became that much more difficult.
