RECAP: AI Engineering & Innovation Summit 2023

The AI Engineering & Innovation Summit 2023, a collaborative venture by CMKL University and the AI Engineering Institute (AIEI), transcended geographical boundaries to curate a symphony of global insights and expertise. 

As a collaborative effort supported by CMKL University, our industries partners and the Ministry of Higher Education Science, Research and Innovation which is orchestrated under the distinguished cooperation of the AI Engineering Institute (AIEI), which includes CMKL University, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Mahidol University, Khon Kaen University, Prince of Songkla University, and Chiang Mai University. This conference highlights our country's joint commitment to advancing AI engineering, technology, and innovation.

Over two days, from December 7-8, 2023, the summit featured captivating keynote sessions and illuminating panel discussions from experts worldwide, an AIEI partner university research project showcase, lightning talks by industry experts, the Hackathon Smart Warehouse Challenge, and the final round of the AI Innovator Award pitch competition. This two-day event has provided attendees with an unparalleled understanding of the evolving landscape of AI and computer engineering, as well as excitement for the future that AI can provide.

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at CMKL University, the summit's keynotes were a feast of intellectual exploration. "Bridging Worlds: Interweaving AI and Humanity" offered a profound exploration into the intersection of AI and human values, emphasizing the importance of ethical considerations in technological advancements.

The summit also spotlighted the collaborative spirit of global research through the AIEI Universities Research Projects Showcase. Researchers and students from various universities in Thailand presented cutting-edge projects, pushing the boundaries of AI technology. 

Hackathon Smart Warehouse Challenge

The top three winning teams, with innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges, were celebrated: Third Place NatsuFest, Second Place SAIG-CE, and First Place The Slumper.

AI Innovator Award 2023

The final round of the AI Innovator Award competition is both fierce and innovative. From innovative solutions to practical applications, each team demonstrated a deep understanding of the ethical considerations crucial for the advancement of AI.

Our esteemed panel of judges, including experts from various fields, carefully evaluated each presentation based on innovation, feasibility, technology, presentation quality, and ethical considerations.

The finalists—Flexofitness, ยิงบาเรต(No Scope), ข้ามแม่น้ำสะโตน, Fun, Stars, BC, and SkinSight—delivered exceptional pitches, showcasing their passion for AI and its potential positive impact on society. The final round was an exciting culmination of months of hard work and dedication from our young participants. The presentations, coupled with insightful Q&A sessions, provided a glimpse into the limitless possibilities of AI and the potential our future generations have to offer.

In conclusion, the AI Engineering & Innovation Summit 2023 demonstrated the convergence of global knowledge, offering a mosaic of viewpoints that give participants a window view into the future of artificial intelligence. As visitors return home, the echoes of incisive keynotes and panel discussions will continue to reverberate, building a worldwide community dedicated to responsibly advancing AI technology.
